Overview

Fitz Willys Kitchen and Catering LLC is a true gem nestled in Pittsburgh’s vibrant barbecue scene at 2514B Leechburg Rd. This barbecue restaurant masterfully blends Southern comfort with local charm, offering a menu that appeals to both casual diners and discerning food lovers alike.

One of the standout qualities of Fitz Willys is the impeccable cleanliness and care they invest in their space. As highlighted by longtime restaurant professional Anthony Ceresa, the establishment shines with exceptional neatness—an environment where you can savor your meal with confidence and comfort. This attention to detail extends beyond the ambiance into the flavors served, where classics like brisket and pulled pork show expert craftsmanship in barbecue tradition. The sides—apple slaw, Mexican street corn, mac and cheese, and baked beans—each play a harmonious role, with the baked beans notably praised for their perfect seasoning balance.

The culinary variations and fresh ingredients also draw praise, particularly from customers like Aanchal Singh, who raved about the shrimp po’ boy. This dish delivers a delightful texture contrast, from crispy shrimp to a resilient yet tender roll, elevated by a unique Amish cake sauce that adds depth without overwhelming the palate. The mac and cheese side complements this with creamy indulgence, striking a balance that speaks to the kitchen’s skill in pairing bold and comforting flavors.

Fitz Willys Kitchen and Catering LLC is not just about food — it is about experience. Owner-operators Lori and Dave foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that transforms a simple meal into a friendly gathering. Their approachable hospitality resonates strongly with customers, turning one-time visitors into loyal patrons. This kind of personalized touch also extends to their catering services, with attentive coordination that ensures events, like graduations and parties, are memorable and stress-free.

The menu’s diversity—from traditional barbecue staples to unique offerings like haluski and fish sandwiches—reflects a thoughtful dedication to satisfying a wide audience. Families, barbecue enthusiasts, locals looking for hearty comfort food, and event planners seeking reliable caterers will find much to admire here.

In summary, Fitz Willys Kitchen and Catering LLC stands as a beacon of quality barbecue and genuine hospitality in Pittsburgh. Whether you’re grabbing a bite near the neighborhood softball fields or hosting a special celebration, this kitchen delivers freshness, flavor, and an inviting atmosphere that make it more than just a meal—it’s a memorable experience.

I will start off with this- the absolute cleanest neatest food service establishment iv EVER been in, and trust and believe I look at this as I spent 25 years in the restaurant business. Everything was spotless, literally. Now the food, food was very good.. I enjoyed the brisket very much, not the best iv ever had, but I'm a food snob,so I'm hard to impress.. but I would absolutely order it again. My wife enjoyed the pulled pork. Apple slaw was good, as was the Mexican street corn n mac n cheese( needed a pinch of salt, but that's just me being me) but the baked beans were absolutely incredible, well balanced, not overly seasoned, just right! I'm so mad I didn't grab a menu,as I visited while at a softball game down the street and was in a rush.. keep up the great work! I will remember this place! Thank you!

I recently had the shrimp po’ boy with a side of mac and cheese, and the Amish cakes and it absolutely hit the spot. The sauce that comes with the Amish cake was so delicious I actually added it to my sandwich as well. The po’ boy was everything you’d hope for—crispy, golden-fried shrimp piled high on a soft yet slightly crusty roll, with just the right amount of lettuce, tomato, and. Every bite had that perfect balance of crunch, spice, and tang, especially with the Amish cake sauce. The shrimp were fresh and flavorful, seasoned to perfection, and not overly greasy. The bread held up beautifully without getting soggy given I ordered this to go and the sauce added a nice kick without overpowering the other ingredients. As for the mac and cheese—wow. Cheesy, and comforting. It was the ultimate side dish, indulgent without being too heavy, and it paired wonderfully with the bold flavors of the po’ boy. If the food does not attract you then the hospitality will. Lori and Dave are such a ray of sunshine greeting each customer and always so welcoming. If you're looking for a satisfying meal that brings a taste of Southern comfort, this combo is a must-try. I’ll definitely be back for more!

Best Haluski I’ve had since I was a kid. The fish sandwich is great, nice crunch on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside. Best in the East. The owners are so nice and friendly, they treat you like family. Best kept secret!

Clean, friendly , Excellent , got the half chicken meal. Enough for dinner, and lunch the next day. Chicken was juicy and delicious. The potato salad was incredible! Nicely packed up in a very cute box that kept it hot till I got home. I'll go back, and would absolutely use them to cater a party! Go, you won't be disappointed!

Wad told by a friend at work about this place, said it was new but very good. So glad he told me. Went there to try out some of the items, wife had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the brisket. With the "lunchbox" you can get 2 sides which has a nice variety. We got the potato salad, mac-n-cheese and the Tara's Famous Pasta salad which was delicious! Everything turned out great. They make their own sauces and we were given a sample of the strawberry sauce to try out in addition to the regular sauce and we loved it. We will be trying Everything on the menu eventually and going for the ribs next! Love supporting the locals and this one is a keeper. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed! Plus Dave was very nice and easy to talk to. Thank you!

Good place to stop for a quick reasonably priced lunch. I usually get the lunch box, it includes brisket or pulled pork sandwich with two sides. The owners are very nice and welcoming
